The Files

Documents out of the world of the series. One shelf is a story told entirely in paperwork, two centuries before the serial. The other is the paperwork behind the chapters you are reading now.

Each document goes to the email list first. The archive receives it a few weeks after.

The 1814 Files

A continuing story · read in order

Two centuries before Jo Byrne, the war was British and the Service was new. An English captain answers an invitation at the end of the first file; an American smith answers the same one in the second; both are walking toward one morning in January 1815. Each reads on its own, and neither spoils the serial.
